ISU vandalism

Overnight, parts of Uptown Normal and Illinois State University's campus were covered in graffiti. Normal PD and ISU PD are looking into the vandalism.

Multiple buildings and signs across Uptown Normal and Illinois State University were spray-painted with graffiti Wednesday night.

The graffiti includes various smiley and frowny like faces and a few “ACAB” slogans scattered across ISU’s campus and Uptown Normal.

According to ISU cleaning officials, there were 18 total locations on campus that included the graffiti, such as Watterson Towers, the ISU Reserve Officer Training Corps building and the Student Health Services building.

Cleanup for the on-campus locations have started and is ongoing.

Locations in Uptown Normal include, but are not limited to, CVS, Campus Town and the Carol A. Reitan Conference Center.

Normal Police and ISU Police have made no arrests thus far and the investigation is still ongoing. ISU PD is also encouraging anyone with any information to contact either the police department or Crime Stoppers.
