ISU junior midfielder Abby Basler.

For the fifth straight week to open the season, an Illinois State University soccer athlete was named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as junior Abby Basler snagged the award for the Redbirds this week. This is Basler's second time winning the award in her career.

Basler joins junior Natalie Vaughn-Low and senior Kate Del Fava as ISU players that have won the award this season. Del Fava opened the season winning the award three consecutive weeks.

In ISU's two victories in Florida this past weekend, Basler led the way with three goals and three assists. She ended the weekend with nine total points, including a hat trick Friday against North Florida.

Basler and the Redbirds return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Northern Iowa.
