Redshirt sophomore Abby Basler made the difference in Illinois State soccer's 3-1 win at Evansville Sunday afternoon, and it earned her Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
With the game tied 1-1, she scored the go-ahead goal at the 77th minute, then added another insurance goal at the 85th minute, securing the Redbirds' third-straight win.
She also recorded an assist on Natalie Vaughn-Low's opening goal in ISU's 3-1 win against Indiana State Wednesday at Adelaide Street Field.
Basler has totaled 11 points this season on four goals and three assists, and this is the first MVC honor of her career.
This is the sixth Redbird to earn MVC honors this season, as junior forward Mikayla Unger earned MVC Offensive Player of the Week last Monday.
The Redbirds look to improve their winning streak as they take on Northern Iowa for the regular season finale at 4 p.m. Thursday at Adelaide Street Field.
