Illinois State University Sophomore midfielder Dagny Olson has been named Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after her performance last Saturday against Loyola.

After missing a penalty kick in the second half against Loyola, Olson wouldn’t miss twice. The game went into overtime and Olson made the most of her next opportunity. After receiving a pass from Rachel Tejada in the middle of the field, Olson struck the ball in net for the game-winning goal just five minutes into overtime. The goal captured the win for the Redbirds and kept their undefeated streak in the conference alive along with their MVC winning streak (16). Olson’s game winner was her third goal of the season.

ISU faces another conference foe, Northern Iowa 3 p.m. today at Adelaide Street field.
