Evansville women’s basketball announced they will forfeit Friday’s matchup versus Illinois State at Redbird Arena.

The Purple Aces said in a statement that they came to the decision after consulting with medical professionals. Only seven players were active for Evansville in Thursday’s loss due to injuries and head coach Mark Ruffing was also absent for personal reasons.

Friday's forfeit will count in each team’s win-loss record.

The Redbirds will face I-74 rival Bradley at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Redbird Arena.
