Senior utility softball player, Shannon Felde has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association third-team.

Felde earns this honor after a solid senior campaign that saw Felde work as a catalyst for the Redbirds offense throughout the season. Felde put up a team-leading .357 batting average, 56 hits, .452 on-base percentage, 36 runs scored, 6 stolen bases and 25 walks while being one of two Redbirds to play in all 51 games.

On the pitching side of things, Felde threw 53.1 innings for the ‘Birds. She finished with a 5.38 earned run average, in 16 appearances 13 starts, with a 3-8 record. Her best game on the rubber came during the first win of the season as Felde threw a three-hit complete game shut out against the University of San Diego Toreros.

This third-team selection continues the accolades for Felde this year. This season Felde has been named Missouri Valley Conference all first team, MVC all-tournament team, and MVC scholar-athlete team. She is only the fifth Redbird to be named to the three-time MVC Scholar-athlete team. Felde also earned MVC player of the week on February 20.

Felde also holds a prior MVC first team, coming in 2017.

Since 2009 the Redbirds have had at least one player in seven of the last ten seasons to be named to an all-region team.
