The 2019 Missouri Valley Conference All-Conference Teams were announced Wednesday morning, and four members of the Illinois State squad were featured.
Highlighting the ISU names was senior pitcher and utility player Shannon Felde. Felde, who led the Redbirds with a .351 batting average, was named to her second MVC All-Conference First Team after also receiving the same honor her sophomore season.
Spence, an All-Conference First Team selection a season ago as a sophomore, was second on the team with a .333 batting average.
Wiebel nabbed her second All-Conference Second Team selection after batting .257 this season, while Day nabbed her first All-Conference selection after going 9-15 with a 3.13 earned run average in her second season as a member of the Redbirds, good for ninth in the league.
The Redbirds finished the regular season with a 17-32 record (11-10 in the MVC), and will travel to Peoria Thursday as the sixth seed in the MVC Tournament. They will face-off with the winner of seventh-seeded Valparaiso and 10-seeded Evansville on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ISU is coming fresh off of a three-game sweep of the Crusaders, and are winners of four straight games.
