Illinois State football dropped off the FCS Coaches Poll top 25 rankings for a short period of time this season, but the `Birds are back on track. The team is holding on to No. 25 after finishing its season 6-5.

The Redbirds were ranked through the first six weeks of play but dropped off the rankings after a loss to Youngstown State Oct. 8. ISU is now back in the polls and waiting to hear if it earned a spot in the playoffs with a 4-4 conference record against MVFC opponents and a 6-5 record overall.

Four other MVFC teams made it on the FCS rankings this week: North Dakota State ranked at No. 4, South Dakota State at No. 10, Youngstown State at No. 14 and Western Illinois at No. 24.

ISU football will wait until 10 a.m. Sunday to hear whether it made the playoffs. The bracket will be announced live on ESPNU.
