Esports students utilize the DIGGS space in Julian Hall.

Starting in the fall semester of 2020, Illinois State University will be the next school to offer varsity competitive esports.

The teams will be under the supervision of Campus Recreation. ISU is the first public university to offer a varsity esports team. Some private Illinois schools have already started offering varsity programs, including Illinois Wesleyan.

The university is still looking for someone to develop, coordinate and administer the program.
