The Illinois State Redbird football team, led by head coach Brock Spack, has announced its home game times for the 2016 season Monday.

There are six home games out of a total of 11 games in the season and most of them will be held on afternoons.

The Redbirds’ 2016 season will begin with a home game at Hancock Stadium against Pioneer Football League team Valparaiso at 6 p.m. on Sept. 3.

The second home game will be the 105th Mid-America Classic against FCS rival Eastern Illinois on Sept. 17 at noon.

Three weeks after the Mid-America Classic the Redbirds will have a two-game home stand when they on Youngstown State at 2 p.m. on Oct. 8 and Southern Illinois at 6 p.m. on Oct. 15. Both opponents are rivals of the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

On Oct. 29, the Redbirds will host another MVFC rival, South Dakota State, at 2 p.m. The Redbirds’ final home game will also be the final game of the season as they will play against MVFC rival Missouri State at noon Nov. 12.
