Illinois State University men’s basketball officially returns to an empty Redbird Arena in 2021.

Illinois State and the Missouri Valley Conference have finalized the conference schedule for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

The Redbirds will open with one game in 2020 on Dec. 30 at Evansville. Then the ’Birds will return home to kick off the new year against downstate rival Southern Illinois on Jan. 3. Through the first five games of the season, Illinois State will alternate between road and home games.

The 2021 State Farm MVC Arch Madness runs from March 4-7 in St. Louis.

Illinois State will finalize and announce its non-conference schedule, set to kick off on Nov. 25, the NCAA’s start date, and will conclude before conference regular season play. Times and coverage information will be available at a later date.

Fans will not be allowed to attend the games in Redbird Arena, in accordance with state and local guidelines. If guidelines happen to change before the winter and a limited number of fans are allowed in attendance, single-game tickets will be sold to season ticket holders and donors on a priority basis. Any remaining tickets will then be made available to the general public.
