Alejandro Rivera

Illinois State University linebacker Alejandro Rivera has been nominated to the 25th Anniversary Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Rivera has played a huge part in the community through his time at Illinois State. He was a Polar Plunge volunteer in 2013 and 2014 while also spending time with the Special Olympics.

Rivera also a great amount of time mentoring and reading to students at several local elementary schools while also helping with football Friday.

To draw up the final roster, 12 players from each level of the NCAA will be selected before finally narrowing the team down to 25 players. For the first time in the award’s history, an honorary head coach will be chosen.

Notable football players to be named to this prestigious award has been Peyton and Eli Manning as well as Robert Griffin III and Tim Tebow.
