The Illinois State University women's basketball team celebrated its first home game of the season on Sunday defeating Saint Xavier 98-53. The Redbirds will now face Northern Iowa in their Missouri Valley regular season opener Jan. 1 and 2.

Illinois State University women’s basketball's Jan. 1-2 conference-opening series against Valparaiso has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results among the Crusaders’ program.

The Redbirds will now face Northern Iowa this weekend at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Tipoff for both games is set for 2 p.m.

The Missouri Valley Conference will announce make-up dates for the games at a later date.
