While not a starter JuJu Redmond made a huge impact for the Redbirds.

Juliunn Redmond has notched her third straight MVC Newcomer of the Week award after leading the Redbirds with 18 points and recording a career-high 11 rebounds in a loss to Bradley. Redmond added two assists and two steals as the ’Birds came up just short, losing 66-62 at home.

Two other Redbirds have been recipients of MVC weekly honors this season. Senior forward Lexi Wallen took home the Player of the Week title on Dec. 23, while redshirt freshman Mary Crompton earned Newcomer of the Week for the Jan. 1 weekly awards.

Despite the host of individual awards, the women’s team still finds themselves sitting at sixth in the Missouri Valley, with a 5-5 conference record.

ISU will have a chance to get over .500 with a home game at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, continuing the conference schedule with a matchup versus Loyala.
