Illinois State men's basketball coach Dan Muller

The Illinois State men's basketball program released their 2017-18 non-conference schedule on Wednesday.

The schedule will include six postseason qualifiers and three NCAA Tournament teams.

"Another year, another extremely challenging nonconference schedule for our program that I'm really excited about," coach Dan Muller said. "With so many new faces, this schedule is really going to challenge us. We will learn a lot from these tough road games, the tournament in Puerto Rico and the quality home games. I'm excited to see how we handle it and even more excited to see how we grow from it. Now, let's fill Redbird Arena this season."

Five non-con games will be played at Redbird Arena, which include match-ups with Charleston Southern, Tulsa, Murray State and UIC.

Road contests feature the Redbirds heading to Nevada, BYU and Ole Miss.

Illinois State will also take part in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off beginning on Nov. 17 against Florida Gulf Coast. The Redbirds will also face-off against a Final Four team from a season ago, South Carolina. The 'Birds will then go on to play Boise State or UTEP.
