Despite losing the weekend series at Valparaiso, Illinois State baseball brought home a weekly award. 

Starting pitcher Jack Anderson earned the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week award in the Redbirds’ 12-0 win during the midweek matchup with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Anderson tossed seven-scoreless frames while only allowing one hit with four strike outs. 

This was the first one-hitter for an ISU pitcher since 2013. 

Anderson and the Redbirds will be back in action at 6:30 on Friday at Dallas Baptist.
