ISU Football Brady Davis 2019

Illinois State's  Brady Davis looks into the backfield before throwing it in the first half of a 2019 game against Northern Arizona University at Hancock Stadium. The Redbirds went on to win 40-27.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference issued a statement that the league’s virtual media day that was scheduled to take place on Aug. 10 has been postponed indefinitely, announced on Thursday.

Accompanying the media day's postponement is the league's preseason teams and polls, which were set to be announced on the morning of Aug. 10.

Following the NCAA Board of Governors meeting, it was decided that each division would have the final say on whether fall championships stay, get canceled or postponed. Division I has yet to come to a decision.

Division II and Division III settled on a plan to cancel their championships instead of postponing the move to spring earlier this week.

All FCS programs await a decision on if Division I championships will stay in place in the fall.

The MVFC issued a statement on the fall season on July 27.

"The Missouri Valley Football Conference Presidents Council has determined patience is warranted regarding any decision to modify the 2020 fall season, seeing merit in delaying as long as there remains a possibility to provide a safe competitive opportunity for MVFC student-athletes."

"The MVFC and its Presidents Council will continue to monitor national developments and, if necessary, will consider additional action as dictated by circumstances."
