Senior captain Rachel Tejada continues to add to her long list of accolades after being named Top Drawer Soccer’s National Player of the Week.

The award comes just after Tejada led Illinois State University to a 2-1 victory over Evansville on Sunday for their fourth consecutive MVC Championship. Tejada had the game’s first goal along with an assist in the championship win. During the Redbird’s semifinal game against Missouri State, Tejada netted four goals, which tied a program record for goals in a single game.

Following this past weekend, Tejada has raised her career totals to 72 goals and 41 assists. This season, Tejada is ranked sixth in the nation for goals, fourth for points and fifth for points per game.

Tejada was also named the MVC Tournament MVP during the Championship ceremony. ISU will face the University of South Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 7 p.m. Sunday in Tampa, Fla.
