Stemming from Illinois State's disappointing 2018 season, it seems as though the 'Birds are looking towards the future as offseason maintenance commences for Redbird football.

ISU head coach Brock Spack and coaching staff announced Wednesday that 11 new recruits have signed National Letters of Intent to Illinois State on National Signing Day, as these 14 total student-athletes join the Redbirds' 2019 roster.

Mid-year transfers in Trey Creamer (Defensive Back, Iowa), Blake Fehrmann (Linebacker, New Mexico) and Aaron Mends (Linebacker, Iowa) make up a large chunk of ISU's fresh blood, providing some experience to the 'Birds latest high school additions.

Illinois State concluded its 2018 season with a 35-28 win over Youngstown State Nov. 17, achieving its ninth winning season in the last 10 years at 6-5 overall and 3-5 in the MVFC.
