Women’s Soccer

Match-up: ISU @ Sam Houston State

Results: 4-0 W

Highlights: The ISU Women’s Soccer team came away with another dominant win Friday pushing their record to 3-0 on the season. Emily Dickman scored the only first half goal on an assist from Hannah Leinart. The second half started slow until Keri Kujawa scored her first goal of the season at the 71st minute on an assist from Kelli Zickert. ISU goalie Aryn Newsom had an easy afternoon as she only had to make 2 saves.

Match-up: ISU @ Texaas A&M

Results: 1-4 L Highlights: ISU Women’s Soccer played a competitive first half agaisnt the No.7 Texas A&M finishing it tied at 1-1. However the Aggies came out strong in the second half netting three second half goals giving the Redbirds their first lost of the season.Rachel Tejada of ISU socred the Redbirds only goal of the game.

Quote: “We just seemed a little slow coming out of the half,” said Head Coach Drew Roff. “I thought we could have come out better, but you have to give A&M credit. They were ready to go. The majority of the match I was pleased with the way we played and the 4-1 score is unfortunate because it looks like the handed it to us. In reality, for the most part it was an even, competitive match.”

Women’s Volleyball

Date: 8/29/14

Matchup: ISU vs. Central Arkansas

Results: 3-1 W

Highlights: The ISU volleyball team opened up the season with a 3-1 win over central Arkansas at the Oregon Tournament. Junior Ashley Rosch had a match-high 18 kills and senior setter Kaitlyn Early dished out 43 assists.

Match-ups: ISU vs. Ohio State and ISU vs. Oregon

Results: 3-2 W, 2-3 L

Highlights: The ISU volleyball team split a pair of matches saturday beating Ohio State before losing to Oregon finishing second in the Oregon Tournament. Ashley Rosch and Emily Shneider earned spots on the all-tournament team.
