With a 2-1 victory over Evansville Sunday afternoon, the Redbird women’s soccer team earned their fourth-consecutive MVC title. The win not only continues the team’s winning streak, but also gives Illinois State University an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Monday afternoon, the ’Birds awaited their placement in Hancock Stadium. After much anticipation, ISU will be traveling to Tampa this weekend to take on the Bulls of South Florida in the first round of the NCAA Championship Tournament.

Illinois State is among the top 50 teams in the nation, ranked at No. 41. South Florida is ranked No. 21. Game times have yet to be determined, but more information regarding the match will be released later this week.
