While not a starter JuJu Redmond made a huge impact for the Redbirds.

Junior forward Juliunn Redmond was honored with the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week award for the second week in a row, after a strong showing against Southern Illinois University and Missouri State University.

Redmond throughout the week averaged 15.5 points a game, as well as 6.5 rebounds and recorded three steals in each of the games. While picking up a win on the road against SIU, the ’Birds were unable to hang with the No. 21 Bears.

Redmond has been a force to be reckoned with throughout MVC play. Averaging 12.7 points per game, shooting 42% from the field. Redmond is also the primary rebounder for the Redbirds, leading the team in boards with 6.3 a game in Valley play.
