The Missouri Valley Conference announced its annual women’s soccer awards Thursday night in Chicago, and among the recipients of these awards were six members of the Illinois State team.

Midfielders Kate Del Fava and Abby Basler headlined the awards for the Redbirds as they were named to the All-MVC First Team. Del Fava, a junior, has five goals and three assists on the season. Basler, a redshirt sophomore shares the team lead in goals with Del Fava at five and has a team-high four assists.

Senior midfielder Kiley Czerwinski was named to the MVC All-Conference Second Team. Czerwinski has been a force lately for the Redbirds, and has contributed two goals and two assists on the season.

Junior forward Mikayla Unger and sophomore midfielder Ashley Santos were named to MVC All-Conference Honorable Mention honorees.

Unger has been the go-to player for the 'Birds in clutch moments as she has contributed three goals on the season, two of which were game-winners. She also has two assists. Santos has contributed two assists as well for the Redbirds.

Finally, reigning MVC Newcomer of the Week Shaina Dudas was named to the MVC All-Freshman Team after scoring three goals and dishing out two assists this season for ISU. Dudas was credited with the assist on the game-winning goal Sunday in ISU’s 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Missouri State.

The Redbirds took on Loyola Friday, losing 2-1.
