Katrina Beck in action during the 2017-2018 season for Illinois State.

The Illinois State women's basketball team announced its 2017-18 non-conference schedule, which includes 11 contests.

The non-con contests will see the Redbirds play six games at Redbird Arena, four on the road and one at a neutral site.

"I think our nonconference schedule will be an excellent test for us," new head coach Kristen Gillespie said. "It will certainly be challenging. I really like that all of our road games are against quality opponents from across the country. I also can't wait to see our fans come out to Redbird Arena and support us as we take strides to build this program. Our hope is that playing this type of schedule will prepare us for Missouri Valley Conference play and allow us to grow every time we step onto the court."

Two of the Redbird opponents appeared in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, while one other opponent appeared in the Women's Basketball Invitational.

The home contests will welcome in Northern Kentucky, UMKC, SIUE, Butler, Eastern Michigan and Cleveland State.

On the road, Illinois State will run into Oakland, George Mason, UW-Milwaukee and an opponent at the Long Beach Classic on Dec. 20-21.
