Illinois State University women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie announced the team's non-conference schedule for the upcoming season featuring seven home games with five on the road.

"I am excited about our challenging non-conference schedule," Gillespie said. "We have the opportunity to play four in-state schools and a BIG EAST powerhouse, with the hopes of establishing exciting rivalries with each program. I think our balance of home and away games will help us prepare for the battles that we will face in the Valley."

The team will open the season with an exhibition game at home on Oct. 30 against Lindenwood University. They then turn around and play Truman State to open the regular season on Nov. 5.

The 'Birds catch their first taste of road action on Nov. 10 taking on Big EAST opponent Marquette. Next comes a spot in Champaign to take on in-state foe the University of Illinois on Nov. 16.

Next comes a stop home to take on Northern Illinois University on Nov. 20. The 'Birds hit the road again to take on North Dakota University on Nov 24. UT-Martin and Western Illinois come in for a pair of home matchups on Nov. 30 and Dec. 4.

ISU then hits the road to take on the St. Louis University Billikens on Dec. 8. The 'Birds come home for a pair to finish their home non-conference schedule. The 'Birds come home to finish their home non-conference schedule taking on Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Jackson State on the 16 and 19 of December.
