Red Raccoon Games is hosting a Pokèmon Open Play event from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five events happening in the Bloomington-Normal area:

ISU Women's Basketball vs. Indiana State

Illinois State women's basketball is facing off against the Indiana State Sycamores at 6:30 p.m. Friday at CEFCU Arena. 

This game is the "Pack the Arena" game as well as a blackout event. As part of the event, all admission is free. Spectators are encouraged to wear black clothing to support the Redbirds. 

The Student-Athlete Advisory Council will collect non-perishable food items and self-care items to donate to the School Street Food Pantry. 


Puzzle Palooza

The Normal Public Library is hosting Puzzle Palooza from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. 

A puzzle swap will begin at 10 a.m. where puzzlers can exchange old puzzles with other attendees. 

A team jigsaw competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. Registration for it is closed as no seats remain.

Attendees who have not registered are still invited to casually puzzle or enjoy the competition as a spectator. 

Admission is free, but this event is intended for puzzlers over the age of 18. 


Chilly Chili race

The Lake Run Club is hosting its annual Chilly Chili race beginning at noon Saturday. 

The group of runners will depart from Fiala Brothers Brewery at 12:45 p.m. and run to the race start at Constitution Trail. 

After the race, the group will return to Fiala Brothers where runners can enjoy chili and a free soft drink or draft beer. A vegetarian chili option is also available. 

Tickets are $15 for club members and $20 for non-members. The race will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press

Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press, a rock and cover band, will play 8 p.m. Saturday at the Castle Theatre. 

The band has covered songs such as "Mr. Brightside" and "Africa." 

Admission is $15 in advance and $18 at the door. The event is 18 and over only.

Pokèmon Open Play

Red Raccoon Games is hosting a Pokèmon Open Play event from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday. 

Players can join in the trading card game or watch and trade cards. 

New players can also make their own Pokèmon ID at the event. 

The price for this event is a table fee of $5.
