Vidette Staff_2021

Vidette editors enjoy a playful moment on April 26, 2021.

Any Illinois State University student enrolled in at least six credit hours is eligible to join The Vidette. The 2021-2022 school year staff needs reporters, photographers, videographers, copy editors and artists.

The Vidette ceased publishing a printed newspaper with the release of the April 27 edition. However, The Vidette as a student-run news organization committed to digital delivery is very much alive and well.

Vidette Adviser John Plevka said, on the one hand, it is sad that the newspaper will no longer be printed, but The Vidette “can — and will — continue to be the stage for young people who wish to tell the important stories of the day. They can — and will — continue to make a difference. The proud Vidette tradition will live on and thrive in a digital world.”

Interested students are encouraged to apply online to become a part of The Vidette team. An editor will follow up with all applicants. If applicants have any questions about The Vidette, they are encouraged to contact Editor in Chief Kellie Foy or Plevka.
