Artist Fidencio Fifield-Perez will be hosting a talk titled "Legalities of Being" in honor of Latinx Heritage Month celebrations at Illinois State University.

Fifield-Perez and his family migrated to the United States from Oaxaca, Mexico. Fifield-Perez will speak about Deferred Action for Child Arrival (DACA), immigration and his art.

Fifield-Perez's most recent art centers around borders, edges and the people who must cross them. He uses his art to show the ways that documentation has changed his life.

The talk will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Normal Theater in Uptown Normal. The talk is free and open to the public.
