pritzker-bailey-governor-candidates

Following the June 28 primaries, JB Pritzker (left) was chosen as the Democrat candidate for Illinois governor and Darren Bailey was chosen as the Republican candidate.

Illinois State University will host a debate between Illinois governor candidates, incumbent Democrat JB Pritzker and Republican Darren Bailey.

The debate will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Braden Auditorium of the Bone Student Center and will be broadcast live on television and radio.

ISU students, faculty and staff were notified via email that they have an opportunity to win a ticket to the debate by entering for a drawing. Anyone with an ISU email address who sends their name and email address to universityevents@ilstu.edu by 4:30 p.m. Friday is entered to win.

The hour-long debate will be available via broadcast and live stream in every county of the state. The debate is expected to bring in around six million live viewers.

The debate will be moderated by WGN-TV News anchor Tahman Bradley and WCIA-TV News anchor Jennifer Roscoe. The moderators will ask the candidates questions, including several submitted by voters, focusing on topics important to viewers at home.
