Paid positions available in News, Advertising, Business and Delivery departments
Founded in 1888, the Vidette has gone through many changes over the years, but through all the generations, one fact has remained constant: The Vidette is still the students’ voice on the Illinois State University campus. It is a legacy we take seriously and it is one we take great pride in, both through the newspaper (printed twice a week during fall and spring semesters) and through the full-service website and social media channels. The Vidette is a true student-run organization that is annually recognized as being among the best in the state of Illinois. The entire process of creating and maintaining the printed product and a vibrant digital product is in the hands of students. The Vidette employs about 30 students on a part-time basis during the fall and spring semesters. Paid positions are available in the following departments: News, Advertising, Business, Marketing and Delivery. Positions are traditionally filled prior to the beginning of each semester. Even if the position(s) you are applying for might already be filled (as indicated below), we encourage you to apply nonetheless. Your application will remain on file for possible future reference. We also encourage you to consider a Vidette internship. The Vidette offers academic internship credits through the School of Communication, College of Business, English Department and the Graphic Design program at ISU.
