Rachel Hickey and Joe Morrison swept the Missouri Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week awards following both of their strong showing at the Billy Hayes Invitational in the 800-meter run. 

Illinois State track and field swept the Missouri Valley Conference Track Athlete of the Week awards following strong performances from Rachel Hickey and Joe Morrison at the Billy Hayes Invitational.

Hickey, for the second time this season and third time in her career, was named MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week following her strong run in which she broke ISU's 30-year-old record in the women's 800-meter with a time of 2:05.06. 

The time ranks first in the MVC, 15th in the NCAA West Region and 38th in the NCAA. 

On the men's side, Morrison earned the first MVC Male Track Athlete of the Week of his career after clocking a 1:49.98 in the 800-meter run. Morrison's time now ranks second in the MVC and 58th in the NCAA West Region.
