Illinois State earned its third straight Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports award as announced by the MVC Thursday.

For the third-straight year, Illinois State was crowned the Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports Champion, as announced by the MVC Thursday.

The All-Sports award is given out based on a school's average finish in each sport, with ten points given for first, nine for second, etc. The total points is then divided by the total number of sports in which that school competes.

The Redbirds finished the 2021-22 school year with a score of 7.894, nearly a whole point ahead of Missouri State, in second with a score of 6.942. Southern Illinois, Loyola-Chicago and Indiana State follow close behind to round out the top five.

ISU won five championships in volleyball, women's basketball, women's golf, women's tennis and women's outdoor track and field while also finishing in the top three in men's golf, men's outdoor track and field, women's swimming and diving and more.

Either ISU, MSU or Wichita State has taken home the MVC All-Sports trophy since 1995.
