The Illinois State Redbirds fell to the Bradley Braves in their last home game of the season during the 2019-20 season

The Missouri Valley Conference announced the 2021-22 men's basketball conference season on Tuesday with the season opening in December. 

Illinois State will begin its conference season on Dec. 1 against Missouri State. ISU will then finish their non-conference season before MVC play picks up again a month later. 

The Redbirds are then back in action against Valparaiso on Jan. 2. After that, the Redbirds return home for a game against Loyola Chicago on Jan. 5.

Later that week the Redbirds hit the road to face off against Evansville on Jan. 8 in Indiana. The Redbirds continue their road trip to Des Moines, Iowa where they play against Drake on Jan. 12.

After two games on the road, the Redbirds return home where they face off against Bradley on Jan. 16.

Three days later, the Redbirds play Missouri State away on Jan. 19. in Springfield Missouri. After this quick away game, the Redbirds are home to play two games the next week with Evansville on Jan. 23 and Drake on Jan. 26.

The Redbirds are away for the next two games against the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Jan. 29. Five days later, the Redbirds travel to Chicago where they play Loyola-Chicago on Feb. 2.

The Redbirds continue their season hosting two back-to-back games on Feb. 5 and Feb. 9 where they play Southern Illinois and Valparaiso, respectively.

The Redbirds round out their season by playing Indiana State on Feb 12 and come home for a game against UNI on Feb. 16.

The Redbirds hit the road for the two final away games of the season versus Bradley on Feb. 19 and Southern Illinois on Feb. 22. To end the season, the Redbirds play home against Indiana State on Feb. 26.

The MVC tournament will then be played March 3 through March 6 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
